There are some tasks you can easily handle yourself using ordinary household tools, and others that may require the specialized tools and expertise of a qualified boat mechanic. Many boat owners choose to seek expert help when it comes to maintaining their boat’s engine.

When your outboard or inboard motor needs a tune-up, you can count on the marine service center at Aronson Boat Works to take good care of it. We provide a full range of inboard and outboard maintenance and repair services at our Lake Vermillion boatyard in Tower, MN. Keep reading to learn more!

· Oil and Filter Changes: We will replace the oil and oil filter in your outboard motor using OEM products.

· Engine Tune-Ups: This service includes compression and spark tests, spark plug replacement, fuel filter replacement, greasing all fittings, and performing a test run. Pricing depends on the horsepower rating of your outboard motor. Please note that these prices do not factor in the cost of materials.

• 2.5 to 5 h.p. 

• 6 to 35 h.p. 

• 40 to 125 h.p. 

• 135 h.p. and up 

· Water Pump Impeller Maintenance: We will repair and replace your outboard’s water pump impeller kit to prevent the engine from overheating. The following prices do not include the cost of materials.

• 50 h.p. and under 

• 60 h.p. and above 

· I/O Engine Tune-Ups: Quotes are based on engine year, type, and size.

· Outdrive Maintenance: We will inspect the outdrive and grease the u-joints.

· Prop Repair: We will send your boat propeller to the Prop Shop to be fully reconditioned. The Prop Shop picks up props on Tuesday and returns them the following Tuesday.

• Average cost for aluminum props – $90

• Average cost for stainless steel props – $220

· Charge Batteries: $55
